Who Are Work In Football?
James Cox
When I started my first year at university, I had no clue how I was going to break into football.
The industry felt gated and closed off, and I didn’t know where to begin.
How was I supposed to gain experience, network, and stand out in such a competitive field?
That all changed when I found a mentor.
They taught me how to network and got my foot in the door with professional clubs.
I learned how to leverage platforms like LinkedIn, and that’s when things really took off.
Suddenly, I was being invited to Premier League clubs, expanding my network in ways I couldn’t have imagined.
While still at university, I gained two years of experience working with football clubs, making myself employable before even graduating.
What I realised was this: having a mentor is vital.
Someone who’s already done what you want to do can show you the way, what works, what doesn’t, and how to reach your goals faster.
Now, I’m passionate about helping students just like I was, students who have spent thousands on a sports degree but don’t know how to break into professional football.
I’m here to guide you, just as my mentor did for me.

You will be assigned two personal mentors.
A Career Progression Coach & a Sector Mentor who is currently working in the sector of football you wish to go into.
In total your mentors will deliver five 1-2-1 sessions.
